March 26  - The Pier is now open.  Call for hours at 410-289-2602.  The first catch of the season was made today by Bradley Wolford  from Baltimore ... a short striper on bloodworms.  More shorts were caught later in the day.   Come on down ... the action should start earlier this year because of the warm winter.

April 17  - The short stripers returned yesterday.  Several were caught.  And ... today , the tautog have arrived with some really nice catches (See our Memorable Catches Page). Of course, there have been lots of skates caught during the week.  But with the upcoming warmer weather, the shad and bluefish should be showing up any day!

April 26  - Quite a variety of fish over the weekend ... lots of short stripers, several tautog, including a few keepers,  black drum, some blowfish in the daytime ... and, some shad at night ... and, of course, still more skates. Still waiting for the bluefish to arrive ... should be any day now!

May  2   - Bear reports that there is still a variety of fish being caught, but no bluefish yet! ... tautog, puffers, skates, some shad ... and a few short stripers.  Come on down ... catch the first bluefish on the Pier for the season!

May  15   - The fishing was slow last week, with a few tautog and shad ... BUT ... the Pier went on 24 hour fishing mode on Friday .... and WOW !!!  Tautog and puffers in the daytime .. and ... Lots of bluefish, shad and schooling stripers on Friday and Saturday night.  THE BLITZ IS FINALLY ON!!!          Come on down!

May  22   - Good fishing continued this past week with bluefish, stripers, shad, puffers and rays .  Some hitting in the daytime ... and more hitting at night.  And, we suspect the fishing will even improve this coming week with the warmer temperatures. Don't miss out ... come on down!

June  2   - The bluefish bite has continued ... and improved, with several anglers limiting out ... and some large blues in the mix (See our Memorable Catches Page).  Shad, puffers and short stripers are still around as well.  And, skates ... and rays ... are also still being caught.

June  11   - The bluefish bite was going strong before the high winds started. .  Still some shad, puffers and short stripers ... and even a black drum caught last week.  The bite slowed down because of the wind, but the water is starting to clear up, so the bite should be back on shortly! 

June  20   - 10 year old, Race Teal from Joppa, MD caught a 44" striper this morning. As the water heats up, so does the fishing.  Some nice additions this week:  flounder and seatrout are now being caught, in addition to stripers, bluesfish, and shad.

June  29   - The flounder bite is really picking up on the Pier as the water gets warmer in the bay.  This weather forecast for this weekend looks great ... and we're expecting some great fishing also!  Come on down!

July 9   - As predicted, the flounder bite continues to improve.  Keepers being caught every day.  And, still getting shad and blues at night under the lights.

July 16   - We've got anglers in all sizes .... and flounder in all sizes (See our Memorable Catches Page). And, yes .... sometimes we do catch sharks!  And, blues, shad and small stripers are biting too.

July 27   - Again, more keeper flounder on the Pier this week.  And .... also in the daytime: seabass, sea robins, a few puffers, and some craokers and kingfish.  And, at night: shad, bluefish, short stripers, some spanish mackerel, and increasing numbers of seatrout. 

August 4   - Still more keeper flounder on the Pier this week.  Also .... in the daytime: seabass,  spot, kingfish.  And, at night: still some shad, bluefish, short stripers, and even more seatrout. 

August 16   - The flounder keep on coming.  Also .... in the daytime: seabass,  a few croakers, some spot, and kingfish.  Seatrout, bluefish and shad continue to provide action for Pier aglers at night under the lights.

August 31   - Weakfish, shad, bluefish and short stripers still being caught at night.  Daytime action on flounder, seabass, white perch, along with some croakers and spot.

September 14   - Besides flounder again this week, Bear reports lots of other fish being caught, including croakers, puffers, sea bass, short stripers, eels, red drum, small black drum, spot, porgies and sea robins.  And, we've got lots of bait to catch them ... including live spot!

September 28   - The flounder are still being caught, along with red drum, croakers, puffers, sea bass, short stripers, eels, and  spot. 

October 10   - Bear is reporting lots of fish being caught.  In the daytime: blues, flounder, seabass, puffers, short stripers, red and black drum and some spot.  At night: shad, blues, trout, red drum, flounder and stripers.  Sounds like good fall fishing.     Come on down !!!

October 30   - The fall fishing season on the Pier is underway!  Still lots of fish being caught.  In the daytime: tautog, red drum, black drum, flounder, snapper blues, seabass, and short stripers, .  At night: shad, blues, trout, red drum, flounder and stripers.   Come on down and join in the fun!

November 14   - Good fall fishing season on the Pier continues .... when the weather cooperates!  According to Bear, lots of different fish being caught... tog, red and black drum, weakfish, speckled trout,short stripers, a few flounder, shark, blues and shad.  There still is time left to get in on the action before the Pier closes for the season.  Come on down!

November 25   - Even when it was cold and windy, the tautog were still biting.  And Black Friday was even more amazing with stripers, red drum and speckled trout.  Check out our Memorable Catches page for current pictures.  The Pier is only open on weekends now.  Come on down before its too late!

December 5   - The Pier is now closed for the season.  We'll see you in the Spring!
